Chibalas Marani

Chibala’s Marani (Chibala’s wine cellar) is located in an ancient historical place Ikalto, Kakheti, Georgia. Paata Chibalashvili started wine production by Kakhetian traditional method from Saperavi and Rkatsiteli grape varieties in 2003. He founded in 2016 the company “NNM”, which produces wine and chacha under the brand name – “Chibalas Marani”. Paata Chibalashvili continues the wine-production tradition of his ancestors, who at the beginning of the 20th century had a wine shop and cellar in St. Petersburg, the capital of the Russian Empire. Our family wine cellar produces wines from Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, and Mtsvane grapes and prepares Chacha(Grappa) by Georgian traditional method.

Ikalto wine cellar is furnished with both traditional and modern equipment. We have 100 years old Qvevris (underground clay jars), where grape juice ferments to organic wine. Paata Chibalashvili has fifteen years of experience based on the 100 years of a continuous tradition of winemaking that is reflected in the quality of the wine. The annual growth of wine sales is based only on wine quality. We plan to build a second Marani (wine cellar) and expand production in 2020. In the new cellar bigger size Qvevris will be placed that will enable us to produce a wider range and a greater quantity of Qvevri wine. The unchanged rule of Chibala’s Marani founder is to deliver the best quality wine from the best quality grapes.
