The Vellino winery was founded in 2015 to continue family’s involvement in winemaking and to promote Georgia’s 8,000 year-old winemaking tradition. The 26 year-old winemaker makes wines from Kakhetian grape varieties, utilizing his knowledge passed down by family and fellow winemakers. Vellino makes wine with the ancient qvevri style, harvesting grapes with organic processes and ensuring quality control of their work.

Vellino is located in the micro-zone of Manavi, in the Kakheti region famous for its rich culture of wine making. Near the southern slopes of the Gomboriridge, the winery is near the Alazani River Valley and the impressive Caucasus Mountains.
