Spekali Winery

Spekali Winery is located in Kakheti, historically the main region for wine production in Georgia. They are a small producer of exclusive, artisan qvevri wines from certain endogenous grape varieties such as Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, and Mtsvane Kakhuri, best known for their micro-zone.

The vineyard was originally planted by us back in 2003-2004. They provide very responsible care and never use any herbicides, pesticides etc. Harvest is set based on lab analysis and proper condition/balance of sugar content and acidity of the fruit. As the winery is located close by to the vineyard the harvested grapes are delivered and processed within 2 hours after they are picked. The wine is fermented and aged for 5-6 months together with its pomace inside Qvevri. The grapes grown in our micro-zone, paired with this traditional Kakhetian winemaking method, give their wine a taste and aroma that is unique to Spekali wines and distinguishes them from the other wines from the region.
