Shalvino also has a dozen of clay vessels, called qvevri, buried below ground level, which is used for the fermentation and storage of wine. It gives wine beneficial quality and special taste. Qvevri is the most important part of the traditional Georgian winemaking.

The Shalvino winery owns 60 hectares of land. While the majority of the vineyards are located in the Kardenakhi area, some of the vineyards are located and cultivated in the Kindzmarauli and Tsaraphy micro-zones. Shalvino’s offices are located in the nation’s capital and cultural center Tbilisi.
