Founded in 2015, Ancestral Wine Cellar has a mini-hotel, ethnographic and wine tasting spaces and verandas overlooking the Alazani valley and the Caucasus. The winery offers winery tours, wine-tastings, an introduction to the Qvevri winemaking techniques; churchkhela making; bread making; participation in a Georgian feast, Supra, accompanied by the Georgian national music with live performances.
The original site of the cellar, Gulashvili’s wine cellar, was founded as old as 1871 which stands as a testament to Georgia’s deeply historical traditions of winemaking in the region. Ancestral Wine Cellar cultivates local grape varietals Khikhvi, Kakhetian Mtsvivana, Kakhetian Mtsvane, Simonaseuli and Danakharu in their vineyards.

Ancestral Wine Cellar is located in the foothills of the Gombori Range in Kakheti's fertile Alazani River Valley, a region famous for its rich environment for winemaking. The Caucasus Mountains stretch to the north while Georgia's capital Tbilisi lies westward.
